Runway

Runway is a hosted creative platform for generating video, images and audio. Its current pricing page includes multiple models alongside asset storage and creative tools, so the practical workflow is to choose a model, create a clip or image and iterate within a credit budget. It is useful for exploring motion concepts, producing draft visual assets and developing material for a wider editing workflow.

The Free plan provides 125 credits once; it is not a monthly refill. Standard includes 625 credits per month and costs $15 per month with monthly billing, or $144 upfront annually, equivalent to $12 per month. Generation costs depend on the model, duration and resolution. The same credit allowance therefore produces different amounts of footage across models, and repeated attempts also consume the available budget.

Plan choice also affects collaboration, storage and rollover. The plan guide identifies Standard, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise options. Standard and Pro monthly credits do not roll over, while Max and higher allow up to one month of unused credits to carry forward. Teams should compare workspace requirements and current model access before subscribing, since feature eligibility changes by plan.

Developers can use the Runway API, where credits are purchased in the developer portal at $0.01 each and generation rates vary by model. Budget API usage separately from the creative-app subscription. Before a larger production, estimate the intended duration and number of iterations with the exact model, then confirm the current credit rate and required export features.
