Privacy Policy

This Policy describes how Emrich Enterprises LLC (a Montana limited liability company), operator of AIDiveForge, collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use aidiveforge.com and related services (the "Service"). Where we say "we," "us," or "AIDiveForge," we mean Emrich Enterprises LLC.

The short version
  • We collect what you give us (account info, submissions, email opt-in) and a minimal pseudonymous record of how you use the site (page, time, scroll, click).
  • We use Google Analytics 4 only after you grant consent through the banner; logged-in administrators are excluded from all tracking.
  • We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the specific service providers listed in §4.
  • You have rights — access, deletion, correction, opt-out. Email privacy@aidiveforge.com to exercise them.
  • For cookie specifics, see our Cookie Policy; for security reports, see our Security Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you register for an account, subscribe to our newsletter, submit content, or contact us, including:

  • Account credentials (username, email address, and hashed password).
  • Profile information you elect to publish (display name, biography, linked websites).
  • User-generated content, such as reviews, wiki edits, benchmark submissions, comments, and workflow pack proposals.
  • Communications you send to us by email.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Service, certain information is collected automatically, whether or not you create an account:

  • Pages visited, referring URLs, and search queries submitted on the Service.
  • Device characteristics, including browser type, operating system, and screen dimensions.
  • Aggregate session data, including time on page, scroll depth, and navigation path.
  • A daily-rotating hash derived from your IP address and user-agent string. We do not retain raw IP addresses of visitors. (The site operator's own login IPs are stored server-side for up to 30 days solely to exclude operator traffic from analytics; this applies only to the site owner, not to ordinary visitors.)
  • Interaction events, including clicks on tool cards, workflow pack cards, skill cards, and outbound or affiliate links, logged with the page path and link destination to understand navigation patterns.

1.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies

Subject to your consent where required, we use the following cookies on the Service:

First-party cookies (set under aidiveforge.com):

  • _adf_vid — Persistent visitor identifier (365 days) used by our self-hosted analytics to distinguish returning visitors.
  • _adf_sid — Session identifier (30 minutes, sliding) used to associate page views within a single visit.
  • _adf_consent — Records your cookie preferences (365 days).
  • _adf_utm_* — Attribution cookies storing the marketing source of your arrival (30 days).
  • _adf_owner — Identifies the site operator's own traffic so it can be excluded from visitor statistics (2 years). Legal basis: legitimate interest in accurate analytics (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Third-party cookies (set by Google Analytics 4 via Google Site Kit — see Section 1.4):

  • _ga — Main Google Analytics cookie used to distinguish unique users (up to 2 years).
  • _ga_FH7LTG7DE7 — Google Analytics 4 session-state cookie tied to our measurement property G-FH7LTG7DE7 (up to 2 years).
  • _gid — Legacy Google Analytics daily user identifier (24 hours). May or may not be set depending on Google's current tag behavior.

You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Decline" in the consent banner, clearing cookies through your browser, or revisiting the Service in a private browsing window. We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which instructs Google's tags to default to a denied state for advertising and analytics storage until you affirmatively accept cookies on this Service.

1.4 Third-Party Analytics Tags

In addition to our self-hosted analytics, we use Google Site Kit to deploy Google Analytics 4 and the Google Tag on the Service. When the Service loads, and only after you have granted consent through the banner described in Section 1.3, your browser executes a Google-hosted script (commonly referred to as gtag.js) that transmits event data to Google LLC, including the pages you view, approximate geographic location derived from IP, device and browser characteristics, and a pseudonymous client identifier generated by Google. We use this data in aggregated form for traffic measurement, audience insights, and search performance analysis through Google Analytics and Google Search Console. We have enabled the "IP anonymization" default behavior of Google Analytics 4, and we exclude logged-in administrative users from measurement. Your interactions with these Google services are also governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google's description of how it uses data when you use partners' sites or apps. You may additionally opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

2. How We Use Information

We process information for the following purposes:

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To authenticate users, secure accounts, and detect fraud or abuse.
  • To generate aggregate analytics regarding usage patterns and editorial performance.
  • To moderate user-generated content and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To deliver transactional notifications, such as moderation decisions and account-security alerts.
  • To send the weekly newsletter to subscribers who have opted in (see our Email Policy).
  • To attribute affiliate referrals to partner programs, in accordance with our Affiliate Disclosure.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our legal rights.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Residents)

Where the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to provide account services you have requested.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for newsletter subscriptions and non-essential cookies.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to operate and secure the Service, measure aggregate usage, and prevent abuse. We have assessed these interests against your fundamental rights.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — to respond to lawful requests from competent authorities.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose information only as follows:

  • Service Providers — Content Moderation. We transmit content that you submit to the Service to Anthropic, PBC, the provider of the Claude API, for the sole purpose of automated content moderation. Use of the Claude API is governed by Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service, under which submitted inputs are not used to train Anthropic's models. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • Service Providers — Analytics and Search. We use Google LLC, through the Google Site Kit plugin, to measure traffic (Google Analytics 4) and monitor indexing and search performance (Google Search Console), as described in Section 1.4. Google processes the event data described in that Section as an independent controller for its own purposes under Google's published terms. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Affiliate Partners. When you click an affiliate link, the destination vendor receives standard HTTP request information from your browser and, upon conversion, an aggregate click count attributed to AIDiveForge. We do not transmit personal information to affiliate partners.
  • Legal and Safety Disclosures. We may disclose information where required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AIDiveForge, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the protections of this Policy.
  • Public Content. Reviews, wiki edits, and benchmarks you submit are displayed publicly together with your chosen display name. Do not submit content you do not wish to be public.

Beyond Anthropic and Google (each scoped above), the Service does not transmit personal information to advertising networks, data brokers, or social-media retargeting platforms.

5. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy, subject to the following periods:

  • Raw analytics records: 90 days, after which individual rows are irreversibly deleted. Aggregate totals may be retained indefinitely.
  • Account information: retained for the lifetime of the account and deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
  • Published user content: retained indefinitely as part of the public record of the Service. On request, we will remove your name from attribution and redact content to a reasonable extent.
  • Email subscriber records: retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Backups: may persist for up to 90 days beyond deletion of live data before being overwritten.

6. Information Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including TLS encryption for all traffic, bcrypt hashing of passwords, server-level firewalls, principle-of-least-privilege access controls, and routine backups. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International Data Transfers

The Service is hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and any other jurisdiction in which we or our processors operate. Where required, such transfers are conducted pursuant to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

8. Your Rights

8.1 All Users

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing privacy@aidiveforge.com. You may also close your account at any time through the account-settings page.

8.2 EEA, UK, and Swiss Residents

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: (i) access your personal data; (ii) request rectification of inaccurate data; (iii) request erasure; (iv) restrict or object to processing; (v) data portability; and (vi) lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8.3 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to: (i) know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; (ii) request deletion of personal information; (iii) correct inaccurate personal information; and (iv) opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

8.4 Exercising Your Rights

Submit verifiable requests to privacy@aidiveforge.com with sufficient information to confirm your identity and the nature of your request. We respond within the time frames required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe a child has submitted information may contact us at privacy@aidiveforge.com.

10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signals. Because there is no industry consensus regarding the interpretation of the DNT header, the Service does not respond to DNT signals directly. You may, however, manage tracking preferences through the cookie consent banner described in Section 1.3. When you decline cookies through that banner, we implement Google Consent Mode v2 to instruct Google Analytics, Google Tag, and any successor Google tags to default to a denied state for ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, and analytics_storage, and our self-hosted analytics will likewise refrain from setting identifying cookies. California residents may treat a declared decline as an opt-out request for purposes of CCPA/CPRA.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may amend this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by posting a revised version with an updated Effective Date and, where appropriate, by direct notice through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service following any amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
